Monitoring greenhouse gases (GHGs) in China: status and perspective

Abstract. In order to establish a creditable greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring network support the goals of carbon peak/neutrality, it is necessary know what we have done and do in future. this study, summarize an overview status perspective GHG China. With decades effort, China has made great breakthrough capacity steadily improved performance homemade instruments. However, most studies been research-oriented, temporal, sparse, uncoordinated. It suggested take full advantage various technologies, platforms, numerical simulations, inventory compilation techniques form stereoscopic assessment system at operational level. We envisage that can routinely quantify GHGs on national, provincial, regional, even individual scales with high spatiotemporal resolution wide coverage low-carbon policy
